MEMOIR PROJECT

MOTHERSHIP:
A MEMOIR OF WONDER, CRISIS, AND HEALING
Weaving together cutting-edge science and autobiography, Mothership tells the story of how I've turned to pristine coral reefs, rainforests, and psychedelic plants to recover from complex PTSD, the result of repeated, prolonged abuse and not being able to escape.

There have been no surefire ways to treat C-PTSD. And relatively little has been written about it in literature — in fact, Mothership is one of the first memoirs to deal with it. My 87,000-word manuscript shows what it’s like to live with C-PTSD and audaciously seek out possible cures in nature — talk therapy and pharmaceuticals did little to help me.

But will doses of nature be enough to save me before it’s too late? What does healing even mean, my memoir asks, in a fracturing society on a dying planet?

I'm currently seeking literary representation for Mothership, which is finished and thoroughly edited. I can be reached here.
